• The 18th of December has been set as the date for the e-draw of the second edition of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing Cup UAE 2024.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, and with the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Vice President of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, the Federation has announced the organization of the second edition of the Falconry Sports and Racing Federation Cup UAE 2024 for international teams. The event will take place from December 17 to 19 this year in Dubai.

This announcement was made during a press conference organized by the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing on Thursday morning at its stand, held on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition.

The second edition of the international federation Cup 2024 for international teams will kick off following the successful of the tournament, the first of its kind internationally in falconry sports and Racing, held at the same time last year. The inaugural event saw wide participation with 15 teams representing 15 countries and was attended by sports figures, who praised the organization, the event concept, and the performance of the falconers. This year, the number of participating teams has increased to 23, representing 21 countries. The tournament e-draw will take place on December 18th, 24 hours before the event begins.

H.E Rashid bin Markhan opened the press conference by affirming the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing’s readiness to organize the event and its early preparation.

 

Bin Markhan added that the global journey of falconry was marked by an unprecedented step and an exceptional, ambitious initiative about two years ago when His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, directed the establishment of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing as an independent international sports body to support and serve all falconry racing-related sports.

 

Bin Markhan continued during the press conference: “Today, we continue the journey we started and are pleased with its results and outcomes. Following the launch of the inaugural edition of the International Falconry Sports and Racing Cup last year, which was attended by prominent sports figures and saw wide international participation with 15 teams representing 15 countries, achieving remarkable success in all aspects, we are now reaping the fruits of that success. The numbers have doubled, and participation in the second edition has increased to 23 teams representing 21 countries from four different continents.

The participating teams in the second edition of the International Falconry Sports and Racing Cup include the team from the UAE Falcons Federation (UAEFF), Bahrain Falcons Committee Team (BFC), Al-Gannas Qatari Society  (AGQS), Morocco Falconry Association (MFA), Algeria National Association of Falconry (ANAF), Egyptian Qannas Association (EQA), Argentine Falconry Association (AFA), Italian National Union of Hunters and Falconers (UNCF), Southern Falconry Association) ACESUR), Kilombero North Safaris Limited (KNSL), Falcon Hunting Solution (FHS)  , Association of Hellenic Falconry (AHF), Falconer’s Association and its traditional folk games (FATFG), Al-Sharafa Al-Qawasim Falconry Association, Sidi Bennour (AAQFA), Al-Qasimia Al-Hasaniyya Falcons Breeding Association (AFBA), Raptor center for conservation rehabilitation Pakistan (RCCRP), Lebanese Federation for Heritage and Traditional Sports ( LFHTS), Mauritanian Federation for Traditional Sports and Games (MFTSG), Yemeni Falconry Sports and Racing Association (YFSRA), Falcon Race Czech (FRC), Mongolian National Association for Falconry Sports and Racing (MNAFSR), Capital Falconry Academy of Beijing (CFAB), Salbuurun Federation Kyrgyzstan (SFK).

 

All participating teams in the second edition of the International Falconry Sports and Racing Cup UAE 2024 will compete with four falcons, with one falcon of each species. However, teams may participate with fewer than four falcons, provided they include at least one falcon of each type. The types of falcons participating include four categories Jeer Shaheen (Farkh) Jeer Teba (Farkh), Pure Jeer (Farkh), and Qarmousha (Farkh),

Additionally, the number of participating falconers has been set at 2 to 4 falconers per team.
