Chaired by his Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, second deputy ruler of Dubai, International Federation For Falconry Sports and Racing’s (IFFSR) board of directors announced the joining of 9 various entities to the IFFSR’s membership. Thus, IFFSR’s members’ number has increased to 25 federations and entities from different continents around the world, as these new members have completed the procedures for getting the sports membership in the IFFSR. This is part of the IFFSR’s efforts exerted towards expanding and furthering the falconry sports practicing across the world.  

 

This announcement was stated during IFFSR’s board of directors’ meeting, which was recently held and chaired by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, vice president of IFFSR. In presence of His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan Secretary-General of IFFSR and board members, the meeting was held via video communication technology, where entities’ membership applications were approved unanimously.   

 

The applications recently received from different federations for IFFSR’s membership have increased, which shows the interest expressed by various federations and entities concerned with falconry sports and racing around the world to have this membership and to work side by side to launch advanced stages in this great sport. Falconry sport and racing is part of the peoples’ civilizations and cultures, representing an important aspect of their respective national identities. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, second deputy ruler of Dubai and IFFSR’s President, has issued directives to further the cooperation and to expand the cycle of partnerships with the relevant continental and international sports bodies and entities. As a result, the number of applicants for new memberships to the IFFSR has increased, which is considered a further success and a true embodiment of the IFFSR’s efforts towards spreading the sport of falconry, representing culmination of such great efforts since IFFSR’s foundation, with a remarkable role played by United Arab Emirates in these great efforts.  

 

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, IFFSR’s Vice President, welcomed the new members, highlighting the significant roles played by the members in spreading and developing falconry sports and racing nationally. H.H. also stressed that this sport has been developing and reaching international levels. This also reflects the growing interest for practicing, organizing, or contributing to organizing such competitions in falconry sports and racing, based on the rules and regulations set by the IFFSR, expanding the participation in sporting and cultural events related to falconry sports and racing internationally.

 

 

His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan, IFFSR’s Secretary-General, stated that the continued interest in joining the IFFSR’s membership promotes the teamwork and participation in the sports field. His Excellency also mentioned that the higher the number of members is, the more constructive ideas and proposals will be given by all parties, which have the same vision and goal: Promoting the Falconry to the Highest International Levels, Now and in the Future. 

 

The IFFSR’s new list of members includes 9 members namely: Kuwait Association for Falconry and Traditional Folk Games; Morocco’s Al-Sharafa Qawasem Association of Falconry and Al-Hassaniya Qawasemia Falconry Association; Pakistan’s Center for the Conservation and Rehabilitation of Birds of Prey; Lebanese Federation for Heritage and Traditional Sports; Mauritanian Federation For traditional Sports and Games; Yemeni Association for Falconry Sports and Racing; Czech Association for Falconry Racing; Mongolian National Association for Falconry Sports and Racing.
